In reply to Garth. Interesting. Are you able to get ethanol at hardware stores in Candada? It is only available in the US in its poisonous denatured form. Unless you want to buy it at a liquor store.

We’ve used ethyl alcohol (ethanol) for years. It is extremely safe and can be purchased in 100% strength.
It has been used in medicine for over a century, some automobiles burn it mixed in gasoline or 100%, and people drink it frequently.

Yes, it can. I have found the 100% in electronics stores. Its pricy is why we don’t use it.
Watch for “rings” on the paint after using it. The rings are from the alcohol swelling the paint just a little. I’ve seen it with 90% on occasion, usually when I leave it too long before removing tab.

Go to the liquor store and buy some 190 prof neutral spirits or 190 prof Vodka. It is safe. You can drink it etc. Some chemical companies will sell ethanol in 5 gallon containers that is pure. Got some once–shipping was ten times the cost of the alcohol. Who needs five gallons?
